Fernhill Primary School is located in Farnborough and shares a campus with Fernhill School and Language College. The school caters for boys and girls aged between 4 and 11.

.

We are lucky to have a large field which we use for PE and playtimes when the weather is warm. Staff and children have developed a 'Wild Area' at the bottom of the field to encourage wildlife. This is used to help children understand about habits, food chains, life cycles etc.

We have two playgrounds as well as an adventure playground.

One side of the playground has lots of benches to sit on and picnic tables where children can eat their lunch in the summer.

The other playground has a netball court and a football pitch for PE lessons and after school clubs. The Lunchtime Supervisors also run 'Huff 'n' Puff' sessions at lunchtimes on the playground where children are able to play with lots of exciting equipment and games.

The adventure playground is lots of fun!

Children are able to use this on a rotational system at lunchtimes and the lower school use the equipment during their afternoon play sessions.

The School operates a 'Buddy system.' If children find themselves with no one to play with, they can visit the Buddy Bench. Specially selected and trained pupils, known as 'Buddies,' then come and help them find someone to play with and solve simple friendship problems.

There are at least 2 Buddies from each class from Oak class upwards. They are easily recognised by the yellow bands which they wear at playtimes.

We are really lucky to have our own indoor, heated swimming pool.

Classes swim throughout the summer term and during the warmer parts of the autumn term. Teachers also run after school swimming and aqua aerobics clubs.

The school beneifts from an extensive outside learning area.

There is a covered gazover where children learn through play.

Children in Cedar class are growing their own vegetables to learn about how plants grow.

Rowan class use the area outside their classroom to read, write and learn through role play.
